Announcement – Marksmanship Open Session

Hi Everyone,

There will be a marksmanship session on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 1800-2000 hrs at Park Place in Mount Pearl. Please enter through the main (double) basement door.

This session is open to all cadets in the corps, and any new recruits that attend will complete safety training prior to their first relay. There will be a couple weeks of open sessions before the tryouts for the marksmanship team begin, with the team being picked in mid-November.

Please come out and give it a try, and let me know if you have any questions.

Memorial Day parade

Hello everyone, Everyone is asked to be at Morris Academy at 10:00 on Monday morning in full uniform for the parade. Pickup will be at 1:00 at the St. David’s field. There will be hotdogs available at the legion as well.

Memorial Day Parade

Good Morning Everyone,

We have one last parade for the year.

Cadets are asked to meet at the Morris Academy on Roosevelt Ave at 10:00am on July 1st for the Memorial Day Parade.  Dress is full uniform. Pick up will be at around 1:00pm.

If any details are changed then a post will be made Saturday evening or Sunday.

Also,  as a reminder those cadets who are traveling to camp.  Travel is not usually released until the Wednesday (sometimes Thursday) before your scheduled weekend to leave.  As soon as we have the arrangements we will advise you 🙂

Sailing Weekend

284 Marconi will be attending a mandatory sail weekend 8-9 June 2019.  This training will take place at Octagon Pond in Paradise and is a mandatory part of their Sea Cadet Training.

We apologize for the delay, however please note that the orienteering originally planned for this weekend has been postponed until further notice due to unavailability of instructor.

Monday, June 3rd. We will be having cadets regular time and place. Wear clothing and footwear to have fun, as we will participate in fun activities. All cadets who have been selected to camp so far are asked to return your signed offers to the Admin O on this night.

Parents of phase 3 and above are asked to meet at the school on June 3rd to discuss the UK trip. Meeting will take place in the cafeteria.

A June calendar will be posted ASAP.

Important ACR practices

Upcoming ACR practices:

Saturday May 25th:
-Mandatory ACR practice 9:30am-4:00pm.
-All cadets will be provided lunch.
-very important ALL cadets are there as this is our final day before the big day!
-no uniform (cadets in PT display must be prepared)

ACR Day May 26th:
-cadets arrive for 9:00am in no uniform for the final run through. Pick up for morning session is 12:00pm.
-cadets will go home for lunch and to get prepared in uniform for the ACR.
-cadets are to return for 2:00pm dressed in full uniform. If they are in the PT display they must have the required clothing and footwear for this as well.

Parents and guests must be seated no later than 2:40pm for the ACR as it will begin at 3:00pm sharp. Please invite all family and friends that you would like. This is the time for our cadets to show off what they have been doing for he year. They have been working very hard and can not wait to show you!
