Baggage Allowance Summer 2015 Travel

Subject: Baggage Allowance Summer 2015 Travel

Good Morning

This is to advise all cadets, staff cadets and officers travelling to a Cadet Training Centre 2015 on what is acceptable with regards to checked and carry-on baggage. We have received confirmation from Air Canada and West Jet that all cadets and staff travelling in uniform and any staff with a valid military ID travelling in civilian attire will be allowed one free checked piece of baggage.

v Course cadets, regardless of length or training course, are allowed a total of ONE piece of checked baggage. The weight shall not exceed 50lbs.

v Staff Cadets, regardless of position at the training centre, are allowed a total of TWO pieces of checked baggage. No one piece can exceed 50lbs and the combined total weight shall not exceed 70lbs. If a staff cadet chooses to check two pieces of baggage, the first one will be free and the second piece, as long as it does not go over the weight restrictions, will be paid for by the Movements staff at time of check-in.

v Staff Officers, regardless of position at the training centre, are allowed a total of TWO pieces of checked baggage. No one piece can exceed 50lbs and the combined total weight shall not exceed 70lbs. If an officer chooses to check two pieces of baggage, the first one will be free and the second piece, as long as it does not go over the weight restrictions, must be paid for at the time of travel and original receipt submitted with their travel claim for reimbursement.

v Carry-on baggage, one piece of hand baggage may be carries on board provided that the dimensions do not exceed 18 inches by 16 inches by 7 inches. Garment/suit bags are not normally allowed as carry-on baggage.
